North Yorkshire takes on The Children's Traffic Club
dbda are thrilled to announce that North Yorkshire County Council are now providing membership to The Children's Traffic Club for all their 3 year olds living in the area.
All 3 year old children living in North Yorkshire will be invited to join The Club around their 3rd birthday, and parents are encouraged to sign their children up, free of charge.
North Yorkshire County Council works closely with schools and parents, with the 'aim to promote "excellence for all" through lifelong learning for the people who live, work and study in North Yorkshire'.
They continue to work towards their target of saving 95 lives between 2005 and the end of 2010. Encouragingly 91 people are already alive today due to education and training, who may otherwise have died if casualties had carried on at the same rate 4 years ago.
However, 47 people died on the roads of York and North Yorkshire in 2009. We hope that by working with North Yorks, The Children's Traffic Club will help contribute to changing behaviour, by building risk awareness, delivering key messages and helping encourage all road users to think safety first, from a young age.
Bill Smith, Senior Business Development Manager at dbda said “We have a longstanding relationship with North Yorks and are really pleased to be working in partnership again.
We are constantly working to ensure that every 3 year old in the UK in conjunction with parents and carers are provided with the opportunity to join The Children's Traffic Club. It's our hope that children are given the best start to becoming a safer road user. We hope this programme can help contribute to long term casualty reduction on North Yorkshire roads”
